Our Story

It's the story of two young entrepreneurs, Saman and Krishnan, both in their 20s, who shared a common passion for innovation and a deep love for their mothers. Their mothers, Mary and Nagalakshmi, had always dreamed of growing beautiful plants and herbs in their small houses, but they struggled due to limited space and the challenges of traditional farming techniques.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, as Saman and Krishnan spent more time at home, they witnessed their mothers' determination and frustration in trying to nurture their green dreams. Inspired by their mothers' unwavering spirit, the young entrepreneurs embarked on a mission to find a solution that would empower not only Mary and Nagalakshmi but also countless others facing similar challenges.

Their research led them to a world of possibilities in the realm of hydroponics. They discovered that many people desired to grow plants but were hindered by space limitations, lack of knowledge, and the inefficiencies of traditional farming methods. This realisation fueled their determination to create something innovative that would revolutionise the farming sector forever.

During an internship, Saman and Krishnan decided to channel their newfound knowledge and passion into action. They worked tirelessly, spending countless hours prototyping and refining their creation. They called it the Smart Indoor farming System (SIFS), a compact and intelligent hydroponic device that would bring cutting-edge technology and modern farming practices to even the smallest of spaces.

Their first prototype of SIFS was a resounding success. With the system's integration of advanced grow lights, precise nutrient delivery, and an intuitive mobile app for controlling the plants’ growth.

Buoyed by their initial success, the determined duo decided to establish their own hydroponics company, TEFAIS. Their vision was to make TEFAIS accessible to everyone, regardless of age or class. They poured their hearts and souls into refining the design, optimising efficiency, and driving down costs without compromising on quality.

TEFAIS’ goal is to spread the word of their revolutionary product like wildfire. So, soon people from all walks of life can start embracing urban farming, cultivating flourishing gardens in their apartments, balconies, and even office spaces. We will not stop till TEFAIS becomes a symbol of empowerment, allowing individuals to reconnect with nature, grow their own food, and embrace a sustainable lifestyle.
